Lavender
… when the countryside is coloured in shades of mauve.
Lavender is an aromatic herb of the mint family, along with savoury, thyme and rosemary, which also grow on the hills around Moustiers. The fragrant flower spikes are favoured by honeybees and also by perfume designers.

Most lavender grown on the Valensole Plateau is a hybrid called lavandin, a cross between two wild species of lavender.

The lavender honey of the Valensole plateau carries a label of origin, guarantying its quality and provenance.

You can taste the white, creamy honey in a variety of original products in Moustiers : dishes, pastries, the famous “biscuits de Moustiers” or even in a glass of honey beer. Bon appétit !
