As soon as you enter Moustiers you will be struck by the song of cicadas, the rich Provençal scents and the brilliant colours brought by the 300 days of sunshine a year.
 
"Douceur de vivre", literally ‘sweet way of life’, takes its full meaning in Moustiers. Not surprisingly, Alain Ducasse and fellow chefs listed in the most prestigious restaurant guides have chosen this region, seduced by the variety of local produce and specialties : truffles, olive oil, lavender honey.
 
 
Many artists have chosen to live in Moustiers.

A variety of exhibits and events are part of the artistic life in Moustiers.
 
 
More than 20 000 olive trees grow on the sunny hills around Moustiers giving the landscape its typical soft-green colour all year. The oil is renowned for its strong flavour and is part of the AOC « huile d’olive de Haute-Provence ».
